The Carlington Summit

The W.E. Gowling Junior Choir received a donation for the Breakfast Club and sang for several hundred delegates at a national conference on School Breakfast Programs, recently held here in Ottawa. The children all looked quite smart in white shirts and black pants or skirts.

All four songs were specially practised for the occasion. Under the able direction of staff members Moira Davis and Debbie Conley, the children sang One World, Food Groups and Chant, I Am a Pizza, and All I Really Need, a United Nations song to promote children's rights.

The gathered conference goers, from as far away as Nova Scotia, Nunavut and The Yukon, were especially moved with the Food Group and Chant, written by Gowling staffer Gerry Lenton. Clearly the children had fun too.
