This school year is a busy one and there are a number of things we'd like to bring to your attention
The Junior Play Structure
The junior play structure has recently been removed due to numerous safety concerns. The provision of play structures is not a school board responsibility and we are faced with the necessity of raising a large amount of money to purchase a new one. The approximate cost of a play structure is between $18,000 - $25,000. Under the City's “Self-Help” program we may be eligible for 1/3 of the cost, up to a maximum of $7,500, and according to the requirements of this program the school board would match the City's contribution. Nevertheless, we are still faced with raising $6,000 - $10,000. We require your help, not only in supporting our fund-raising efforts this year, but also with your time and ideas. If you would like to volunteer to be a member of the Sub-committee for the Replacement of the Junior Play Structure please contact Janet Donovan at 728-8048.
Hot Dog Days
As one of our fund-raising efforts this year we will be holding more hot dog days. Notices will go out in advance. Volunteers are needed to help prepare the hot dogs. If you are interested in please contact Janet Donovan at 728-8048.
Mars Bar Fund Raising
The Mars Bar fund raising campaign is winding to a close. If your child has not yet returned either the money or the chocolates to the school, please have them do so as soon as possible, and thanks to all the children and parents who helped make this year's sale possible!
