Therefore be it resolved that a 12 month pilot project be initiated effective December 1, 1999 whereby members of the public who attend meetings of Council, standing and advisory committees be provided with bus tickets, upon request and upon production of a valid bus transfer and that a review be conducted in January 2001.
Thanks to Councillor Inez Berg for initiating this motion. I know that it does not address the other green modes (walking and cycling) and does not help those who use a bus pass. But we can bring up these matters when the review takes place.
Don't forget to ask for your bus tickets every time you take the bus to a meeting at City Hall (at least every time that they offer to stamp the parking chits of those who have come by car!)
