Art Lending of Ottawa - 30th Anniversary

Rent or buy original fine art at reasonable prices at the monthly exhibition of Art lending of Ottawa, non-profit organization. The show will be held at the Unitarian Church Hall, 30 Cleary Avenue Ottawa, just off Richmond Road near Woodroffe, on Monday, January 17, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Tuesday, January 18, 2000.

Along with the regular membership exhibition, January's Focus Show will feature Mitsugi Kikuchi's magnificent watercolour, oil, and sumi-e works. Free admission, coffee and free parking.

Alexander Skating Rink News

A BIG WELCOME TO THE NEW RINK ATTENDANT, JOEY DUCHARME from the Alexander Community Association. Joey comes to us with many years of experience, having been involved with his father who was responsible for the rink at Alexander many years ago. When the weather is co-operating the rink will be open: Monday - Friday from 5 PM - 9 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 - 5:00 PM.

Thanks to Joey and his team of workers for preparing the rink for Community skaters.


Alexander Park Winter Carnival Excitement!

On Saturday January 29th from 11 to 2, bring your family and have some fun!

Hopefully the ice on the rink will be smooth and skateable. There will be many events and activities including free wagon/sleigh rides from 11 to 1, snow golf, shoot to win, hot chocolate and hot dogs! There will be face painting, prizes and special guests throughout the day. Come out and meet your neighbours and dress warmly. See you there.

The City Ottawa's Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing Programmes for Senior Adults begin on Monday, January 17 and Tuesday, January 18, respectively.

Cross Country Skiing takes place on Mondays and Thursdays and Snowshoeing takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

There will be an information workshop on Wednesday, January 12, at Fisher Park Community Centre (250 Holland Ave.) from 10:00 a.m. to noon, on snowshoeing and winter wear.
