Summer Time - a Great Time to Volunteer
At The Glebe Centre long term care facility, July and August bring not only sunny days and warm weather but an increased demand for volunteers. Whether they are helping with ongoing resident activities, as regular volunteers take their holidays or with special summer activities, the presence of caring and committed volunteers is critical to the success of these programs which promote the physical, mental and social wellness of our 265 residents.
Indoor and outdoor walks and friendly visiting with residents offer a great degree of flexibility for those where time availability is limited or varies week to week. Organized small and large group activities, offered weekday mornings afternoons, as well as some evenings and Saturday morning, demand a regular commitment, but offer a wide range of possibilities.
