This year's Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 27 at 7:00 PM at the Centre, 900 Merivale Road. Weather permitting, a BBQ will be held before the meeting. Everyone is welcome at the AGM, however, only members can vote at the meeting.
Calling Interested Members! Become a Board Member or Join a Committee!
One of the strengths of CCHS is the active involvement of community members on the Board of Directors, which ensures that CCHS gives the community the services it wants. A number of Board positions will be filled at the AGM in June, and all CCHS members are asked to consider running for a position.
The Board has several important responsibilities. It establishes the general policies of the Centre, plans for the future, and helps obtain and administer funding needed to run our many programs.
Some specific duties of Board members include attending monthly Board meetings, participating on at least one committee, and being aware of the needs of our community.
Committees include the executive, planning, finance, and public relations/fundraising. Community members do not have to be Board members to serve on committees.
If you are interested in running for the Board, here are the steps to take:

Only members of CCHS can run for Board positions. Please call 722-4000 to confirm your membership. If you are not a member, request an application by calling. You will receive an applcation that must be returned to the Centre by May 16th. This allows your membership to be approved by the Board at its May meeting.

When you ask for an application, also ask for a nomination package. The completed package is due at the Centre May 26th.

Attend the information session on June 5th to learn more about being a Board member.

Attend the AGM and participate in the election.
Nominations will also be accepted at the AGM for any member who did not previously complete the nomination materials.
The Board needs people from our diverse communities to be truly representative. That can happen only if you contribute your time, energy, and unique experiences. Please consider it!
