The Carlington Summit

Become a Board Member or Join a Committee!

One of the strengths of Carlington Community and Health Services (CCHS) is the involvement of community members on the Board of Directors. A number of Board positions will be filled at the June AGM, and all CCHS members are asked to consider running for a position.

The Board has several important responsibilities. It establishes CCHS policies, plans for the future, and helps obtain and administer funding needed to run our many programs.

Specific duties of Board members include attending monthly meetings, participating on at least one committee, and being aware of the needs of our community.

Committees include planning, finance, and public relations/fund-raising. Community members can join a committee at any time and do not have to be Board members.

If you would like to run for the Board, here are the steps to take:

Only CCHS members can run for the Board. Please call 722-4000 to confirm your membership. If you are not a member, complete and send in the form on page 2 by May 15th. Your membership can then be approved at the May Board meeting.

Call the Centre at 722-4000 and ask for a Board nomination package. The completed package is due at the Centre by May 26th.

Attend the information session on June 5th to learn more about being a Board member.

Attend the AGM on 26 June and participate in the election.

Nominations will also be accepted at the AGM for any member who did not complete the nomination materials.

The Board needs people from our diverse communities to be truly representative. That can happen only if you contribute your time, energy, and unique experiences. Please consider it!
